The Vertex Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance for people with cystic fibrosis (CF) or their families (siblings and caregivers) to enable them to pursue a two, three or four year study or study higher education by covering part of the college or university tuition fees. In Canada, seven scholarships are awarded each year.
Scholarship recipients are chosen by an independent committee made up of members of the CF community based on a blurb and demonstration of their commitment to the community and their academic achievement.
To be able to apply, the applicant must be:
- in the process of being registered as a full-time or part-time student in first, second, third or fourth year of high school or graduating from a post-secondary program in the fall of 2021, and have a good academic performance ;
- a person who has been diagnosed with CF or a family member (brother or sister) of such a person;
- a legal resident of Canada.
Applications for the 2021-2022 school year will be accepted at the end of 2020, and recipients will be notified in early 2021.
